Yes, you can control the access permissions for TeamViewer on your computer. TeamViewer allows you to set up and define access controls, including requiring permission and authorization from you before someone can access your computer remotely. To ensure they only access your computer with your permission, you can configure the settings accordingly in the TeamViewer software.

Make sure that Incoming Lan Connections is on deactivated mode in General tab when you access settings. There is also the firewall which may cause the problem. You can disable it by running a simple command: netsh advfirewall set currentprofile state off.

I have installed Teamviewer 9 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine and it is able to connect to other computers using Teamviewer but no one is able to connect to the machine.

I click connect and Teamviewer attempts to connect to the machine (it can be seen as online in the computer list on the right). Furthermore, when I try to enter the Options menu, Teamviewer stops responding and crashes.

It doesn't seem like a firewall issue or a machine connectivity issue as I have disabled the firewall and can even ping the machine but cannot connect through Teamviewer.

Does this sound familiar to anyone and has anyone been able to solve this issue?

First make sure to configure the Firewall to allow the client to connect. Secondly, go to Settings and disable Proxy and LAN connections. When configured to LAN, Teamviewer will not have the possibility to work outside your LAN, neither will accept any connections. If this is still not working, go to Teamviewer website and download the QuickSupport. The package consists of an application designed for quick support. It contains an ID and a randomly generated password.

The answer would be no. If you uninstalled TeamViewer, then the ID that was attached to your computer is marked as offline making it impossible for another client to connect to your computer.

Ok so what you do is download teamviewer. If it’s not installed on your computer and your normally just run it. You stick in your memory stick click open to view files. Then you just drag teamviewer icon to the folder of your memory stick. And there you go.

The problem that you've reported can be resolved as it follows:

  1. Stop and exit TeamViewer if it is still running.
  2. Click on Windows > Start > Run and search %appdata%, find the teamviewer folder and delete it.
  3. Click Windows Start > Run and enter regedit. Click OK. Find the registry entry located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > teamviewer and delete the teamviewer registry folder.
  4. Change the MAC address of your Ethernet card and restart your PC. If you don't know how to change your MAC address please follow Microsoft's tutorial.
  5. Start TeamViewer.

Yes, the Teamviewer Host application works with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in both 32 and 64bit mode. I have downloaded the application from its official website and installed it in Windows 8 Pro X64. The Host version allows machine controlling even before the Windows logon.
